OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the performance of experimental lines and named varieties of hull-less
barley in eastern Montana.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:
Location: EARC dryland and Irrigated farms
Soil type: Williams Clay Loam
Previous crop: fallowed on dryland farm and pulse crop on the irrigated farm
RESULTS:
The hull-less barley had very poor germination on dryland. Therefore, the yields on dryland are not
presented. Agronomic data from the irrigated farm are shown in Table 10. Yield and test weight were
adjusted to 12% moisture content.
